About Us

Mission Statement

The American Old Timers (AOT) is a non-profit basketball league of former college and professional basketball players 35 yrs and older playing in 3 divisions; The Open Division (starting at age 35), The Legends Division (starting at age 45) and The Masters Division (ages 50+). Through fundraising, each chapter provides funds for youth programs in their respective cities. AOT is committed to helping youth today for a better tomorrow.”

History

The American Old Timers Clubs, Inc., founded in 1988, grew out of the National Old Timers Basketball League, established in 1963. Originally, the National Old Timers expanded from four chapters to sixteen by 1986. In 1988, several western teams formed the independent American Old Timers Clubs, starting with seven chapters and now boasting eighteen. The league has also introduced Legends (45+) and Masters (50+) divisions to serve its members.

Playing basketball is more than just a game!

At AOT, basketball is more than just a sport—it’s a platform to empower youth and build stronger communities.

Every chapter of AOT actively raises funds to support local youth programs, providing resources, mentorship, and opportunities for young athletes to grow on and off the court.

How we make an impact?

By joining AOT, you’re not just playing basketball—you’re helping build a better future for the next generation.
